This 2 day course is an introduction to underwater photography and filming techniques. Using the London School of Diving facility in west London, course members not only get to try out a number of different underwater camera systems, they also get to pick the brains of the best photographers and cameramen in the business. Whether an amateur snapper, a budding pro, or a hardened veteran, this course offers a unique insight into how to take the best photographs and footage as taught by respected figures in the trade.

COURSE STRUCTURE DAY ONE:
Welcome, course description and introductions. An overview of underwater camera systems. Preparing and care of cameras. Photography basics. The digital/film debate. Constructing a winning image. Shortcuts to great shots. Macro/wide angle. Lighting systems.
Lunch
Practical photography. Dive 1: Use of macro and wide angle systems in the water. Analysis of final results |

DAY TWO: Introduction to underwater video techniques/systems. Lighting. Composition. Shooting for an editor. Taking charge of the camera! (i.e. not shooting on auto).
Lunch.
Practical video techniques. Dive 2: Use of camera or video equipment putting theory into practice. Analysis of results. Course summary.
